Angie Blom drew a tall bank of poppies and seed heads with berry sprigs and leaves crowding between the stems, a dense border piece that fills a card front on its own. Two sentiments sit beside it in her loose script: When you can’t look at the bright side, I will be with you in the dark, and the wry Why aren’t more people as wonderful as us. Stamp the flowers in black or a deep gray and color only two or three of the poppy heads so the rest stays as line work. It is an encouragement card for a friend in a hard stretch, or a best-friend birthday card if you lead with the second line.

I created a couple of cards with this stamp yesterday and they turned out really pretty. I used the inspiration photos to get me started and some alcohol inks. I will be using this stamp a lot. It’s perfect for birthdays, congratulations, anniversaries, etc..
