How to pick the right one
A few rules of thumb after a lot of years of watching people make these cards. Match the register, not the occasion. If you and your person communicate mostly in insults, a sincere verse will read as strange. The snarky ones will land better and mean more. Short beats long on a small card. A three-word sentiment with room around it looks deliberate; a paragraph crammed edge to edge looks like an apology. And write the specific thing. The stamped sentiment does the heavy lifting on the front; inside, one concrete sentence about this actual person beats any amount of borrowed poetry.
For batch projects like classrooms, group chats and church groups, pick one focal image and rotate three or four sentiments through it. That is why most of our Valentine sets pair a single image with several sayings rather than the other way around.
