Description
Built for the family Christmas you actually have, not the one on TV, Arlene is 2.55 by 3.7 inches of holiday resentment: curls tied up in a holly bandana, striped sleeves and tights, an apron trimmed in jingle bells with a gingerbread man peeking from the pocket, one hip cocked and a spoon of cookie dough raised like evidence, while the cat at her feet wears the Santa hat under protest. Four sentiments keep pace, from "Come for the cookies, the family dysfunction is just a bonus" to "I made you exactly what you wanted. A card from me. Merry Christmas!" Send it to the sibling who gets it, the friend hosting twenty people, or anyone who needs permission to be slightly less merry this year. Stamp her in black, keep the pressure even across those bells and stripes, and try a red ink on the shortest line for a card front that lands the joke fast.
